I am a new member so hope this hasn't been asked before. If so, please guide me to the archives.
I rip (with dbPoweramp) CDs to MC audio library. dbPoweramp has various fields such as Artist, Composer, genre, etc., of course, and once these rips are in JR, is there a way I can edit the fields. For example, if I wanted to change my entry in the Genre field, could I and if so, how would I go about it? Thanks for any help. Regards, Rich

Media Jukebox is older; things have changed for the better in Media Center's since then, so you'll have better experience with MC18.
Anyway, select the files you want changed, and either:
1. Open the Tag Action Window and click to edit the field you want changed
2. Press F2 to edit in place (you can use Tab to move to other fields)
Enter your value, and press Enter or click out of the field to accept the edit. Escape before Enter aborts, and Undo reverts.
For (2) above, the cell that opens for edit is the cell you last clicked on (useful for multi-selection).

Hi MrC, and thanks for your response. To clarify, I am using MC18, not MJ. Are the steps different for MC?

Hi MrC and thanks for your reply. To clarify, I am using MC18. Is the procedure you offered the same for MC18 as for MJ?

Editing tags in the Action Window is pretty straight forward.
You can also:(below is a modification I made based on Wiki directions <http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Edit_Properties_Directly_in_the_List_Pane>
Edit Tags Directly in the List Pane Eg. Under a "View As" Categories or other view (see attched pic)
To edit a single file's tag (directly in place in the list pane)
1)Select the file in the content pane list by left clicking the row in the list pane
2)then to highlight the filed cell to prepare for editing, either
• Left click in the appropriate field cell
• Right-click in the appropriate field cell > rename
• Press F2 (the cell that opens for edit is the cell you last clicked in the row)
Then choose from the pull down list
To edit multiple files
1) Select multiple files (rows) using Ctrl + Left click for non contiguous files, Shift + Left Click for contiguous files (rows)
2) then to highlight the filed cell to prepare for editing, either
• Right-click in the appropriate field cell > rename
• Press F2 (the cell that opens for edit is the cell you last clicked in the row)
Then choose from the pull down list
Navigating the List pane using Arrow and Tab keys
1)Once a file (row) is selected
Arrow keys move up or down a row
2)Once an individual cell is highlighted
• Use the Tab key to move to and highlight the cell on the right
• Use Shift + Tab to move to and highlight the cell on the left.
• Arow keys move up or down a row highlighting the cell above or below
To cancel changes,
press the Escape key if the change has not yet taken effect, or press Ctrl + Z to undo.
