Title: Party Mode Password
Post by: zendoo on May 07, 2013, 09:46:09 am
"The password you entered is not valid!"

I have never entered a password and my portable install tells me the password I entered is not valid when I try changing to party mode. There was the same issue with access control which has been resolved from version 18.0.158 to 18.0.175...

I would like to set a password and put my portable install to party mode so people I lend my hdd to can watch movies but cannot change any tags or anything on my hdd.

Another question about portable install before I use hours playing around with it:
Are relative paths possible at all?
If I lend my hdd to someone and their computer assigns another drive letter to it than it has on mine, they won't be able to open the files, right?

Windows 8
Media Center portable in d:\MediaCenter
Media in d:\Music
d:\movies
d:\photos
d:\ebooks

wouldnt it be great if this worked?!

best regards!

In portable mode, all paths on the install drive will be stored in a relative fashion, using the (Install Drive):\ token instead of C:\, D:\, etc.

This means it should be irrelevant the actual drive letter assigned by the system.
