Title: Downsample DSD128 to DSD64 in real-time
Post by: joelha on May 08, 2013, 09:46:35 am
If this has been asked elsewhere on this forum, I'm sorry but I couldn't find the topic.

As my dac won't play DSD128, is there a plug-in or any other method for playing DSD128 files on JRMC18, downsampled to DSD64 in real-time?

Thanks,

Joel

I think you will have to convert to PCM for now, as you can only bitstream DSD. (which means an unaltered output)
There was talk of possibly supporting realtime DSD conversion - mostly focused around PCM to DSD conversion, but I assume that downsampling double-rate DSD would be a part of that.

Thanks for the reply and I completely (at least I think I completely) understand.

At the same time, I have used ASIOProxy in JRMC18 to upsample DSD64 to DSD128.

I realize there might not be anything out there to add on to MC which would downsample as I want, but on the strength of what ASIOProxy could do, I wondered if there was something similar for downsampling purposes.
