Title: Subtitles advice (ssa/ass)
Post by: Mikosen on May 11, 2013, 01:09:15 pm
I just installed JRiver for the first time and tried an anime episode http://bit.ly/13oICH4 (http://bit.ly/13oICH4) image looks great but subtitles don't work automatically and after I enabled them, their size is very small...even after I changed the size to 150% I still think they are to small for me. please advise!

Please guys....I love the player but the subtitle thing is really bothering me and I'm not willing to buy it if it doesn't work properly.

I'm afraid I can't help you but please search the board for anime and ssa/ass, there has been several posts about this or related at least.

I know Matt (one of the developers) has done a lot to optimize subtitles for anime in the past but its weekend for them too, so try bumping this monday/tuesday.

Also, if your subs are ssa/ass, change the subject of your message to include that.

We now try to honor the font size specified in the SSA.

There was a discussion about this recently here:
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=79854.msg543039#msg543039

It led to this:
18.0.168 (4/12/2013)
Changed: SSA subtitles honor the font size specified in the SSA style block more exactly.

Maybe you could post screenshots in the thread above if the results aren't to your liking?
