Title: Burner does'nt
Post by: scoot on March 27, 2002, 01:50:55 pm
I have a Ricoh MP7040A Burner and the rest of the system info is below.
When using CDRW media,I keep getting an error message --Write command failed on device 0:1:0
                                 Read/Write on bad medium detected (04h 00h 02h 03h 64h C0h)

When using CDR media,I'm getting an error message --Write command failed on device 0:1:0
                                 Illegal command request(04h 00h 02h 03h 05h 00h)

I've made a number of coasters trying to make this work.

Anyone have any ideas??

Thanks for reading.

I didn't see in your post--which version of MJ?  v8.0.xx is still beta. I think many people are getting coasters right now.

Ver.7.2 downloaded on Sunday. I have checked CD setting and followed those instructions.

Turn On The Test Option So You Don't Make Coasters Untill You Work Thru Your \ MJ Problems

Also You Might Want To Try The MJ Beta 8 Version.

You May Also Need To Load ASPI Drivers

If you're recording audio CD's, try unchecking "decode direct to mp3" in Settings/Options/CD Writer settings. Try setting the write speed at 2X (or 1X). While you're doing this testing, check the "test mode" checkbox so you won't create coasters.
You could also try the "use generic driver" option.
