Title: A New JRiver Customer Purchases 10,500 licenses
Post by: JimH on May 15, 2013, 02:16:58 pm: I want to congratulate the JRiver team for a recent sale, after several months of discussions and a few weeks of custom work, of 10,500 licenses to a single corporate customer.

The customer had made the decision to standardize its media organization and playback software, and JRiver won the competition for the honors. Some light customization was required and that process went very well. The customer was a pleasure to work with.

Edit -- I should have said that the project and the sale came about because one of our end user customers was in an important technical job at the company. He posts here from time to time, and we owe him a big thanks.

Given the overall economy of the past few years, that's great to hear.

On first reading, I thought it said 'customers purchase' plural as in that's how many licences you've sold altogether. I was still going to post a congrats message!
Were the customisations built into the regular builds or just for the customer?

Post by: JimH on May 15, 2013, 08:08:26 pm: We wrote a new system to be able to do a customized build that could be updated by installing the main builds. We also modified our licensing to allow an automated install and licensing process. These should be useful in the future.

Also great that you are now better placed for future Volume Licenses.

On a totally selfish note (ahem), there may hopefully even be some spin offs from the customizations that may benefit the main build ;D

An the original all digital JRiver Media Centre from 30 years ago are now a collector item! (what is the capacity of this thing I wonder, 8-Bits at 1Hz?)

What's funny is I misspelled inherent to begin with, and got the red squiggly line... So I right clicked and selected the first entry, and that is what I got. I just can't win! >:(

JRiver is a company that can bring pleasure and answers from the "One 2 One" perspective and give the same attention 2 a one shot client with a 10.5 k licence distribution deal !
