Title: Tagging files with quotation marks
Post by: scottlf on May 21, 2013, 05:42:37 pm
I've noticed that sometimes when I'm tagging files I get errors -- the only connecting thread appears to be file names with double quotation marks. The problem goes away if I change the file names to be without the quotation marks.

Similarly, using an asterisk * seems to cause problems,at leat with creating custom tags.

I can't reproduce this.  Can you provide the filename with the quotation marks and I'll try renaming a file and do some testing with it?  Also provide the tag changes you're making.  Thanks!

I will send you an offending file as soon as one pops up. I've been fixing the file names as I've had tagging problems, alas. But I've made a note not to fix the next one -- hopefully it will come along soon.

Got one. This is also an ALAC, with a colon -- another problem I've encountered -- surrounded by spaces, in addition to quotation marks. The file can be found:

Thanks.  I'll test that one when I'm back after the holiday weekend.
