Title: Ripping speed
Post by: JSS on March 06, 2003, 03:56:07 am
Hello all,

I'm new to ripping CDs. I've just ripped a 61'23" CD, and it took nearly 20'. Does this seem normal to you?

There are many factors involved that may affect your ripping speed. It depends on the output format, if it's only ripping or ripping + encoding, the performance of your equipment, etc.

Your results represent a 3x speed. It's difficult to say without more specific details, but 3x is also my average speed when ripping/encoding to mp3 using MJ8 Lame encoder.

Regards,
