Title: Radio Station Streaming
Post by: daveman on May 25, 2013, 03:03:47 pm
Hi there,

I would like to be able to stream music using JRiver from the following webpage

http://www.bob.fm/live/music-player/

There is also a .pls file that can be obtained from http://provisioning.streamtheworld.com/pls/CJPTFMAAC.pls

How do I set it up on JRiver and ALSO, can i them stream it to my dlna players using JRiver and JRemote?

Dave

Regarding the first part of your query, did you check the Wiki and give that a go?
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Web_Media_%28Radio%29 (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Web_Media_%28Radio%29)

Same source gives info on DLNA:
http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/DLNA (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/DLNA)

And a forum post titled
Quote
Audio: Radio stream from server to Gizmo
http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=73566.0 (http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=73566.0)
might be relevant.

I'm not going to troubleshoot this one to the nth degree for you. Doing is arguably the best method of learning. Come back with a report of how you fared after you've had a bash at self help and I'm sure you'll get plenty of support.

I've set up streaming radio for some Oz stations. In my case the national broadcaster (who are an absolute blessing) put this together:
http://www.abc.net.au/radio/listenlive.htm (http://www.abc.net.au/radio/listenlive.htm)
I followed their info and (very probably) the stuff on the Wiki and I didn't look back. The fact that it was easy and I've mostly forgotten the details prompts me to think that it shouldn't be too hard.

Good luck ... and remember 'Search' is your friend..   8)

thanks for your help.

The following link was very helpful.  http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=73566.0

The WIKI was not to helpful as it needs to be updated as the steps appear to be related to older versions of JRiver.

for example, File > Open Streaming File is now File > Open Live

What exactly is the Web Media page.

Can I add the stream to "My Connected Media"?
