Title: How to disable internet explorer from popping up over theater view
Post by: edbk on June 01, 2013, 06:10:08 am
Hi,

Since a few days internet explorer keeps popping up. Its a bit annoying since I run headless and have to pull my htpc out of the closet and connect a mouse/keyboard to remove it. It pops up over theater mode (which is my default startup mode). How can I disable this? Cant find a setting for it. Our whole hifi club seems to be having this issue.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.  18.0.193 is at the top of the MC board.  It has a fix that may affect your problem.

What is popping up? IE cookie request window or the actual IE?
I have no idea why IE as a whole might be popping up over the top of JR's Theatre view.
When does it happen, if you are half way through a movie does it happen?

BTW, to avoid pulling your machine out, you could use a smart-phone based remote to close IE. Not ideal, but an improvement on the current approach.

Ok JimH thanks! I will try that version.

@icstm, its internet explorer opening a jriver website link. Happens occasionally on startup.

I'll bet it's the one about *that* plugin. You know the one?
