Title: JRiver vs iTunes

Hi,
I purchased JRiver in May and upgraded to latest version 193.  I was upset because the MC has less punchy and lower gain compare to iTunes.  Do I need to calibrate or do extra setting anywhere?  Can its volume be adjusted?  I Am using macbook pro latest spec with wadia async DAC through usb.  Please enlighten thank you.
