Title: Is DSD Measurable As Being Bitperfect?
Post by: JazzDoc on June 02, 2013, 06:40:47 am
I went back to the Noire skin from Black on Black to test for the bitperfect blue light. JRMC18 confirmed bitperfect output at all bitdepths and resolutions but when I played back a DSD file the light did not come on. I'm sure this is how it should be but could someone give me a simple explanation of why my FLAC files are measurable as bitperfect but DSD files seem not to be. Thanks

If you're not bitstreaming DSD, it's not bit-perfect.

But you can't really play back a DSD file "bit-perfect" anyway - above 30kHz or so it's all just ultrasonic noise which needs to be filtered out.
