Title: Streaming to sonos - no JRiver Audio Engine
Post by: slarti05 on June 07, 2013, 09:11:41 am
Hi,
I used to use the JRiver streaming capability to use convolution via my Sonos ZP90 in another room. When I tried it this moning, it didn't work anymore, with JRiver giving the error message "audio engine not used"(although it did stream, it just didn't use convolution).
Has anything changed here due to recent version updates, or what am I doing wrong?? Please help!
Many thanks
Slarti

You can only use DSP for local zones (ie. a soundcard, USB DAC, HDMI output, etc.).  Does the Sonos appear as a soundcard to the system, or is it DLNA?

Hi Matt,
The Sonos is a DLNA client. But your answer is surprising, I'm very sure it did work in previos releases!?
Was there any change?
Cheers

DSP has never been supported with DLNA.

However, it's possible the Audio Path display has changed to make this more clear when using DLNA.

Supporting DSP Studio with DLNA is an often requested feature, so maybe it'll get added to a future version.

Thanks, Matt, for clarifying.
That's a pity that it doesn't work, though - that would be such a unique and useful feature...
Please keep it a high on the list of future features!!

Cheers
