Title: TV streaming missing stuff
Post by: raym on June 08, 2013, 04:01:27 am
I've started using the TV streaming feature on one of my clients. Starting and changing channels is slow but I guess this is expected. It seems to be working quite well other than this.

One thing I noticed though is that the now/next "programs" OSD menu you get with regular live tv is missing.

Also, I couldn't get channel changes to work when using the keypad. Is this also a missing function?

I found this as well when I was using it in it's early stages.

I think essentially what is happening is that you're creating a recording of the program on your server, then simply playing that recording, which is why the channel numbers don't work and you get a strange filename instead of a program name and full guide functionality.

I think what JR have done is basically automate the "record and play the recording" process they suggested for ages.

Yes.  We can do more to synchronize info from the server to the client so it will behave better.
