Hello everyone,
Untill now i used mc18 only on my main desktop pc with the music and movies on a NAS.
Sometimes I connect with my mc to my tv to play my music or movies. But because that pc is a bit noisy, i want to use a (older) laptop as the mc server for playing music and movies on my tv, while still using the main pc as a client to add music or movies to mc and for ripping and moving files to my NAS.
Which is the best way to move the library that is now on my desktop to my laptop? Is there an automatic way inside mc18?
Thanks for any advice on this.

Welcome to the forum. Our wiki has a topic called "Moving Files".

sorry, maybe I wasn't saying it well enough. English is not my native language.
I don't want to move the physical files. those are on the NAS, and i want them to stay there.
I was talking about the mc library (database?), that is on the c-disk. The one that you can find in the library manager. I want to move that one to the laptop, which is now the client, but i want the laptop to become the server.
Is there a way i can move that one with mc18?

Back up the library on the desktop, copy the file to the laptop and restore it.

But make sure the files are accessed the same way from the new pc as you did on the old.
So if the share is \\yournas\musicshare and it is mapped to N:, make sure you map the same drive to the same share on the new pc.
