actually android since 3.0 gingerbread has been able to play FLAC files. in fact i believe the latest version of Google Music supports FLAC natively? if not, there are TONS of music players (i would highly recommend Neutron Player) that support FLAC and other formats.

... and of course you can use Gizmo which actually converts your FLACs to MP3 when streamed to your phone...

As space on a mobile is rather limited and the DAC in general not top notch, it is a good strategy to convert to MP3.
JRiver in general doesn’t see a portable player (your phone) but a SD card.
As you can store anything on a SD, JRiver won’t convert.
You can force JRiver to convert to e.g. high bit rate MP3

Tools > Option >Handheld

Choose always convert
Choose your encoder

Bit more detail can be found here: http://www.thewelltemperedcomputer.com/SW/Players/MC14/MC_sync.htm

thanks everyone for the information! I prefer convert to mp3 because I have not many space in my sd card.

In MC18 the dialog it's different. If I want convert always what is the option? the second option?

I can use USB storage mode and MTP mode (media player portable). What is the best option?? MTP mode?

It's possible that MC only convert to MP3 when the file are not mp3? if I select "always", mp3's that I have will be converted??

thank you!

OP:

I am assuming that you mean to save these files locally to your int/ext storage (you said storage capacity was the issue). If your moving a large amount of data mass storage will always be faster (MTP is a hybrid mode for quick syncing and debug).

You can use mc's built in encoder (options > encoder), select encoding for file conversion, switch to MP3 and pick between VBR or CBR.

Hi! thank you.

Finally, I use MTP because it's more good for sync. No errors with playlist with MTP. But it's more slow than mass storage.

What is the difference between this?:
"Specified output format"
"Specified output format only when necessary"
