Title: can't sync with receiver
Post by: Leaf Thief on June 09, 2013, 11:00:21 am
Hi!  I'm new and am having difficulty finding relevant info in previous posts.

Issue: I am trying to play audio files from my computer to my stereo.  Media Center is not syncing with the receiver (it shows it momentarily in the "Playing Now" section, but disappears when I choose it).

Setup / equipment:
 - Media Center 18.0.194
 - Dell XPS 8500 running Windows 8
 - Pioneer Elite VSX-60 receiver
 - the computer is networked (hard wired) to the receiver

In Media Center under tools / options:
  (1) I have enabled the media network ("Use media network to share this library and enable DNLA").  I have tried the generic DNLA setting as well as the audiophile and legacy UPnP DLNAs.
  (2) Under audio, I have tried using all output modes - ASIO, direct sound, disk writer, kernel streaming, null output and WASAPI.

I have no idea what to do at this point.  Any help would be much appreciated!

Does the AVR have an IP address in the network? Can you see the AVR if you look at your connected devices?
Open Command Prompt and type in "net view".

Yes, I can see the receiver under devices / printers and it is assigned an IP address.  The status indicates that it is working properly.

Not all DLNA devices can be played to.  Can you play from the Pioneer?
