trying to play a mkv video file and I kept getting this "playback problem"
Something went wrong with playback
Details
Failed to connect audio renderer to audio decoder.
How can I fix this..
I am running on 18.0.195...
thanks

I don't know what this is, however think you might need to provide the video & audio codecs contained in the MKV. You can do this using Media Info (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en (http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en))

Sounds like your Audio setup is not correct. Are you using WASAPI Event-style or something else? You may want to try a couple of different settings.
-
yes, I am using Wasapi with the following config

the above setup is the optimum (I sincerely hope so) for my audio playback..
and also just realized the other mkv do not have problem..
It may be the only mkv file having this problem...

Uncheck the dts bitsream option
-
okay thanks..
will try it when I get back home after work

Sorry for the short response (I was on my phone). The default is that the Bitstream options are unchecked so MC will "decode" the audio and send it to your DAC (DAC, Receiver etc). You only check the Bitstream option if you want your device to decode the Audio as well (and of course they would have to support the format).

it works..
the reason I set the bitstream format to DTS because I have couple of DTS files which I was trying to play too.
thanks

They should all play with MC doing the decoding. You only check the bitstream formats is you want an external decoder to do it for some reason.
