Title: If I change meta tags in MC will these be changed in other applications?
Post by: baldo on June 13, 2013, 08:30:39 am
If I change the artist from say "Ludwig Van Beethoven" to "Beethoven Ludwig Van", will these be changed in other applications that access these files?

I am ripping all my CDs into Flac format and I want to copy these over to some kind of NAS solution to then be streamed to be played via a media streamer.

I do not want to have to edit all the meta tags again.  I also want to see my Flac albums in the same way that I see my CDs. So if I have Beethoven filed under "B" I want to look under B and not L for Ludwig...

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

It's up to you whether tag updates are saved with the file (and hence available to other applications) or not.

Tools > Options > Library & Folders > Manage Library Fields

then for each tag you want saved check the "Save in file tags (when possible)" tag.

To make the list of tags to check shorter, you have some options (top left) "Show only audio fields", "Show only fields saved in tags", "Show only fields not saved in tags" ...
