Title: Saving Tag Changes
Post by: hoyt on June 15, 2013, 01:38:11 pm
Is there a way to get more detail as to what MC is doing when it's saying "Saving Tag Changes" in the bottom bar?  I use a NAS for my media files, and on occasion, I've found some files that are saved with the wrong permissions, so a client computer doesn't have access to change the files.  MC will then keep waiting to make the changes when it doesn't have permission.  I believe eventually it gives up, but I'd like to see the 220 files that are remaining so if there is an issue, I can fix it more promptly.  Is there a terminal view, or something simliar, that will show me this type of information?  Thanks!

maybe might be easier to terminal into the nas itself and  identify the files that match permissions  client doesn't have? are these sidecar files  perhaps?

That's what I generally end up doing, but I'd rather ssh to my nas with a better picture of which file is giving MC errors.  Otherwise, I end up running chmod, chgrp and chown on huge subfolders of files.
