I would like to convert from APE format to Apple lossy m4a format (for my iPod Touch).
But i only find an item for Apple lossless format (ALAC) in the list of available Apple formats.
What should i do?

Sorry, but JRiver does not have MP4/M4A encoding.

Thanks for the info!

You have all the pieces though, would just need to put it all together. AAC encoder and MP4 muxer are available. :)

I earlier tried to "trick" MC to encode a FLAC file into a MP4 using the libav based conversion but it failed, so I gave up at that point.
It does option up a bunch of additional combination using libav...... but don't encourage Matt with new features, he has some polish to apply yet!

It's easy. I've exported my FLAC collection to m4a to use on my Android phone using MC.
Do a search on Interact and you'll find a guide to setting up the external encoder with the Nero m4a encoder. That's how I worked it out.
I'm posting from my Android phone, so this time it's not a spoon feed deal. Use search and you'll be amazed at how much help it is.
We can all be guilty of missing the obvious (my +1 calls it having a "boy's look"), so don't think I'm throwing stones but if you look hard enough you will find what you're looking for. All the best.. ;)

Here's a link to the Quicktime encoder ...

The best topic for configuring MC for AAC comes from the MC16 forum:

For normal (250-300kbps) converting I configure MC's external encoder paramters for: --tvbr 111 -s %IN -o %OUT
HTH :)
