Title: Problem: "Error starting Direct3D engine" in Theater View
Post by: wattage on July 02, 2013, 08:20:27 am
I get the error above when trying to enter theater view in MC18.  I'm running a Intel® Desktop Board DN2800MT with Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit using the HDMI display output.  I saw that there was a dll file that had to be loaded in MC14 and I think with XP.  Is this still a valid fix?  Any other suggestions?

Are you using 18.0.206?

Yes, running 18.0.206.  Additional information on the error message is

(Adapter 0 not capable of windowed mode)

A friend of mine is using the same board but with windows 8 32 bit and does not have the issue.

Thanks for the fast reply.

Try updating the driver.  Try searching for similar problems here.

Do you use the Origin client? I've noticed sometimes that it fails to drop SystemUIOverlay after exiting a game.

I don't know what that is, sorry.  I don't use the PC for anything other than a music server.  No software other than Windows, JR MC, and the driver for my DAC is loaded on the PC.  So I would say no, I am not using this.  The board is supposed to be able to handle 1080P HDMI graphics but that is not what I'm seeing.  Any other thoughts?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows* 7 was not loaded.  Now it is working like a charm.  Thank you very much!
