Title: Installing ASUS ASIO driver
Post by: Z0001 on July 10, 2013, 05:19:19 pm
Hi

I want to install the ASUS ASIO drivers for my Xonar Essence ST card from their web site. I have down loaded and it's a zip (.rar) file. I'm not sure how to install or whether i need to unzip all the multiple contents or just the installation.exe file or indeed how to do this.

Has anyone done this and can they walk me through it? I've tried several times and have never been able to successfully install the drivers and have MC recognize them.
Cheers

If you need a tool to unrar the file, I recommend 7-zip (http://7-zip.org/), though it seems like you have that much covered.
Generally you would extract the entire contents of the archive into a folder, and run the "setup.exe" from there. (or installation.exe in this case, it seems)

I don't have an ASUS card, so I'm not sure that I can help beyond that.

You would be better off with the UNIXonar drivers ...
