My external HD not working. My videos and files "JRSidecar" are on external HD.
The program JRiver Media Center still shows the information of videos (JRSidecar).
How to save (Recover) information (JRSidecar) elsewhere? Is it possible?
Help-me!.
Regards,
Fabrício, from Brazil.

A new import and possibly a Update Library (from tags) should work if you don't have any Library backups.

Library backups saves information: File "JRSidecar"?
-
A sidecar file is a supplemental file created by MC for placing external tags, for those file types that do no support tagging.
You can examine the file with a text editor to see what is stored. MC should be able to read this file automatically when you Update Library (from tags). But a Library Backup (automatically created by MC, or that you manually created) will contain all your metadata (and the sidecar files should be consistent with this). So first try to use a library backup to restore, and if you don't have that, try re-importing.

My external hard drive crashed, but yet JRiver Media Center shows the file information "sidecar".
The videos and the file "sidecar" are on external HD.
Through JRiver Media Center, I want to export file "sidecar" elsewhere.
The videos will be downloaded again. I want to retrieve the file "sidecar".
Do you understand? My English is very bad.
Hugs ...

As long as your library contains the info for the videos, you do not need the sidecar files. Sidecar contain no info not in the database itself.
So when you redownload the videos, place them in the same location they were in and MC will recreate the sidecar files.

Please use JRiver, not JRiver. It's better for search. Thanks.
