I am running windows home server v2011. A few months ago jriver stopped playing my .m4a files from this sever. I receive the error "Something went wrong with playback." I am able to play .wma and flac files without issue. I can also play m4a files directly from the folder, but not utilizing dlna. Other dlna compliant software that I am using plays the .m4a files without issue. Any ideas on how to correct?

I've got the same problem. If I add a m4a file to a playlist it just gets skipped, and if I try playing a single file I get the same error message... The few m4a files I've got are bought on itunes. Can this be caused by some sort of protection thingie or other?

I was able to partially solve the problem. Under Options - File Types I was able to change the playback method from Automatic to J River Audio Engine (Using Direct Show).
