Hi - I just converted my HTPC to a dual purpose occasional home use/HTPC computer. One output is to TV (starts JRiver v18 stable in home theater mode) while the other to a monitor in another room where the primary desktop work is. I have a JRiver media center remote and that controls only when the JRiver window is in focus. Is there a way to make the remote control keys to control the JRiver even when the window is out of focus? My searches showed some results that other folks have the same question with not a clear answer.
Thank you for a supportive and enthusiastic community.

The Green button will show and focus Theater View.
As for connecting two displays, my advice is to configure Windows to only output to one at a time. Otherwise you'll have cases where some dialog or message is stuck on the wrong screen.
This little nugget built into MC18.exe can help flip between monitor #1 and #2:
MC18.exe /MonitorToggle

Thanks Matt, seems like the 'toggle' option could help. Is there a way to force the MC18.exe to output all related windows fixed on one monitor, eg Monitor2? Switching between one and two monitors would be a hassle since it has to be done few times/day. I currently use displayfusion to force MC18 to start ion Monitor 2 (TV) and works well for most part except when the remote goes out of focus on the MC18 application.
Can MC18 intercept remote functions when out of focus using the green button?
Thanks.

Only the Green Button (and possibly volume) works when another program has the focus.
The idea, I think, is that multiple programs could be remote controlled and share the remote nicely between them.
