Title: Can't burn DVD [Solved]

 MC18 won't burn data onto a blank DVD. The ones I'm trying to use are 16x DVD-Rs branded HP. As I recall, Imation actually manufactured these discs. I've tried several blanks, but each time MC18 presents a message informing me to "Insert a blank disc."

What's the workaround?

Does Windows think the discs are blank?

Sorry.... I haven't even bothered to try WMP in Win8, thinking it wholly inadequate to do much of anything. I'll try this and see.

Unbelievable!

I've been using Imation media for many years in many PCs. But neither the DVD-R nor the CD-R blanks work in my my brand new ASUS laptop. Meanwhile, a Memorex DVD-R worked just fine!

Sorry to originally think it was MC18.
