Title: Volume control with WASAPI
Post by: Kev06 on August 02, 2013, 12:49:09 pm
Hi everyone,

my microsoft keyboard and (cheapo) remote control both have volume control buttons on, which are very convenient. However, they only control JRiver's volume when the focus is on the application; if I'm using another programme they then have no effect on JRiver.

I believe this is partly because I'm using the WASAPI output mode; I can get around it by using an audio mode that plays through the windows system volume (which always listens to the volume buttons). But I don't particularly want to use a lesser quality audio mode; is there a way to make JRiver still listen to the volume buttons even when its not got the focus?

Many thanks
Kev

Okay, so if not... is there some way of re-configuring windows to launch or bring the focus to JRiver instead of opening the microsoft media centre, when any standard media centre launch button is used? I'd prefer to do this within the windows OS if possible but I tried a couple of third party re-mapping utilities which seemed not to have any effect in win7.

Cheers
