Hi,
I'm having trouble ripping some DVDs or playing DVDs rips with MC 18.0.206.
This happens in both Red October and Red October HQ modes.
What I've done:
1) Started AnyDVD
2) Played the DVD (optical disc) with MC: no problem
3) Ripped the DVD with MC: Ripping failed message
4) Ripped the DVD with AnyDVD: no problem
5) Imported the DVD rip in MC: no problem, but the [Compression] field is empty.
6) Play the DVD rip with MC: MC freezes every time.
This has happened with 4 DVDs.
Note that all my blu-rays can be ripped and played in MC without any problems.
Anyone have an idea?
I can provide log files if that helps.
Thanks !
jp

Maybe I should add that DVD rips play fine in VLC.

Update:
Playing the problematic DVD-rips from the local (C:) hard drive solved the problem.
My video files are located on external USB hard drives, but I never had any problem before this issue.
This work fine as a workaround for now, but I would like to keep all my media files on external drives.
Weird issue.

Hi
Did you get any replies to your challenge as I am having the same problem ripping some Music Videos. I can play them OK but it starts to rip and then fails.
-
Hi,
Nope, no replies yet.
I guess not many people came across this issue.
I also had problems ripping some DVDs with MC, but it was possible with AnyDVD.
If you rip your music videos with another program, does it play in MC ?
To summarize my problem:
- Playing DVD rips located on local C: drive is OK.
- Playing DVD rips located on external USB drives causes MC to freeze. VLC can play them without any issue.
Hope someone can give me some clues !
