Title: 227 crashes and no way back, what now?
Post by: Udo_1 on March 18, 2002, 10:24:09 am
What is wrong with 227?

Since I installed 227 on my computer, I can’t set the options any more. The sw crashes immediately. So what’s wrong?

1. I try to uninstall 227 an go back to the latest one I saved (217). But surprise, I get the error about the failed registration control.
2. I deleted the shellext.dll after reboot and tried again. Same result
3. I went back to 227 and still there is this error

This problem about this inability to go back to an older version has been posted more than once. Since there was no reaction from JRiver, I bring it up one more time, hoping that one of those guys will read it, and at least respond to it.

So fact is: 227 will not run and the way back is blocked.
Is the only way out of this, to reformat the drive? Since you programmed it, someone should know what’s going on here!

Don't reformat the hard drive for that. That would be a big waste of time.

They should have a new build out in a couple hours and try that first.
