Title: DoP File?
Post by: russtafarian on August 13, 2013, 02:03:43 pm
Can I create a DoP file in JRiver? In other words, put a DSF file in a DoP container and save it as a 24/176 FLAC file.  The file could then be streamed to and decoded by a DSD DAC with a DoP SPDIF input.

Thanks.

JRiver can already bitstream DSD over PCM so I'm not sure why you would want to convert. JRiver can convert any file to DSD and you could then use JRiver to bitstream that file using DoP.

MC19 allows you to encode all output to DoP or 2xDSD so no file conversion would ever be necessary.

Yes, I'm already bitstreaming DSD via DoP from JRiver to my Benchmark DAC2.  I'll have to try those DoP features in MC19 once it gets here.

I do have a good reason for wanting to create DoP encoded FLAC files from DSF files.  Any streamer setup that will handle 24/176 FLAC can be used to stream DSD to my DAC2 SPDIF input if the DSF file is wrapped in a DoP FLAC file package.
