Title: Problem Ripping CD into Wave Files - Distortion, Skips, Dropouts

I have JRiver 18.  If I rip a cd into wave files, the first 1 to 3 songs encoded have dropouts, skips, or distortions.  If I use iTunes to rip the cd, I have no problems whatsoever.   Has anyone experienced this problem?
