Title: Startup of UPnP Server
Post by: AndrewFG on August 14, 2013, 12:59:37 pm
In Tools | Options | Startup it seems that one can select for the MC UPnP server to start automatically on Windows "Start-Up".

However it seems to me that "Start-Up" actually means that the server starts on Windows Log-In. So, in other words the MC UPnP server won't (can't) run as a Windows Service on an unattended headless server PC because it requires always to have a connected monitor and keyboard and that there is a user present to do a physical login every time that the PC reboots.

Or am I wrong? Is there some hidden way to get the MC UPnP server to run automatically on Windows Start-Up??

This is one of those misleading descriptions.  It should read At Login, not At Windows Startup.

Feature Request: can the JRiver developers please consider adding a feature allowing the UPnP server to be started as a Windows Service Application when the Windows OS starts, instead of it only starting as a regular Windows UI Application when a user logs in?

{ PS I know this is possible, since I have done the same with my own Whitebear Media Server }
