Title: Why Not Convert Format via Library Server?

Why isn't Convert Format supported over library server?  I am especially curious because Ringtone is.  Both are grabbing the original song and exporting a part (or all) of it.

Are there any plans to add handheld device syncing (also to a faux device "folder") via library server?  I use Windows for Library Server but use Mac for accessing my library on my laptop.
