Title: Auto-Swap audio device feature request
Post by: strend on August 19, 2013, 03:03:51 pm
Like to request a feature for the option to automatically switch audio devices (OR swap speaker configuration) depending on the number of audio channels are in a given track/video.

I know JRiver has the option to up a 2 channel audio track to 5.1/7.1/etc., but my receiver handles this better, and sometimes I'd prefer to listen to a track with only 2.1.

Yes Zones can be configured to use different Audio devices and/or DSP settings. You can also apply rules to swith them autmaticaly. Your rule could be number of channels.

Awesome, thank you.  The device swap works perfectly.  The Channel selection (Under Direct Sound Settings >Channels) on the other hand doesn't seem to actually change the configuration of the playback device, it just limits the playback to your selected speakers.
