Title: Library question
Post by: Z0001 on August 23, 2013, 03:36:32 am
Hi

I have to re rip my movie collection. Problem in my original rip settings selection means I missed subtitles of all kinds.

If I re-rip a movie, delete the old version and rename the new version the same as the old version, will MC library recognize all the tags and art I had previously for the old version? This would save me a whole bunch of time!

Many many thanks

If I understand the question, I guess you'll be ok as long as you also have available the sidecars that MC created in the same folder as each video file. Without it, you'll have to experiment.

Make sure you have sidecar files next to your movie files and check your cover art location. If you have specified a folder for cover art and the movie covers aren't there you can right click the movie, choose cover art and save art to external location.

Then when you replace the old movie with the new file with the same name etc, it should work. If not, art is not lost and can be found with a right click, cover art, quick find option.

The sidecar files take care of all the tags so you should be good.
