Title: MC 19 Processor Usage
Post by: Glossie on August 26, 2013, 10:49:57 pm
On my desktop running Windows 7 MC19 shows 50%-60% processor occupancy while MC18 playing the same wave format track in ASIO output mode clocks in at about 15%. On an older laptop running XP it's worse. MC18 runs again in the teens but MC19 runs at 100% and sometimes hangs. Anyone else has this problem?

MC19 has improved audio analysis algorithms:

That means auto-import might be analyzing audio for the first few days of MC19 usage.  This is optional in auto-import options.  You can also run auto-import manually to see more detail about what it's doing.

If you have

Options > Audio > Play files from memory instead of disk

checked, then the pattern of CPU usage is quite different from MC18.  See:

I suspect the auto-import task is the culprit since the occupancy does not change even when nothing is being played. I will leave the player running until the task completes.

Thanks.
