Title: Ctrl-J checks for updates instead of madvr stats
Post by: InflatableMouse on August 28, 2013, 09:14:59 am
When I'm playing a video from theater view, fullscreen in overlay mode, ctrl-j used to show madvr stats. I noticed today it forces a check for an update. At first I thought it wasn't working but when I returned to standard view and saw the update notification I realized MC is picking up the Ctrl-J and not Madvr.

Madvr has a setting to pick up hotkeys only when it has focus, but I never changed anything here and never have. Maybe there's a focus issue (again)?

CTRL-J always did updates for me...in v18 anyway. Never tried it in Theater view tho :)

Vocalpoint is correct.  MC has use ctrl-j since before madshi was born.

I know that, but when playing fullscreen video madvr should pick up the ctrl-j, how else can you view the stats? This has never been a problem before so I'm not sure whats changed and thats what Im trying to find out.

To put it another way. In the past MC has never checked for updates when I did a ctrl-j during fullscreen video playback, it always enabled/disabled madvr stats.

Our Ctrl+J handler shouldn't get in the way of madVR.

However, this issue gets a little complicated (the issue discussed there is still unresolved):

Right. I didn't search the 17 board but that thread title says [Solved] ;).

But I understand correctly its still an issue in v.19 then?

In MC19 and prior versions:

Work computer: Ctrl + J shows the madvr stats in Theater View only when the madvr options screen is open.

HTPC: Ctrl + J always shows the madvr stats in Theater View. I don't have to have the madvr options screen option open.

As far as I can tell, I have the same setup/options for both computers.

Since MC loads its own instance of MadVR, can it can configure the MadVR settings to its own liking? So could it make the default for MadVR stats 'Ctrl Alt J' for example?

It's very easy to change it yourself in the MadVR settings to whatever you like. Possibly makes it more reliable if it doesn't clash with MC's keyboard hooks.

I noticed with detached display, with the detached display containing the focus (click on the video) the madvr specs come up normally.

I test edit "User Settings.ini" in Library Backup many time.
if delete 2 line below then restore, JRiver Can use Ctrl-J for madvr stats
[Plugins\\RemoteControl]
Enabled="Raw Input"

And then I try config option by if "Remote, Keyboard, gamepad or other HID" is selected (in  Option-->Remote Control-->Device & Option-->Selected input), I cannot use Ctrl-J for madvr stats.
