I've noticed some odd things when trying to sync to a folder on my hard drive. For some reason JRiver syncs the same songs over and over again and just renames them with a "(1)", "(2)", etc... appended to the name. I have "Delete From Handheld Any Files not in playlist" but that doesn't change anything.
Any ideas?

Does anyone have any ideas on this?
I'm sure I'm not the only one syncing to a local folder in order to get around the sync issues for some android devices.
I can get the files over to my android from this local folder... it's just a pain to have to delete everything out of it each time I sync it with J River. Can these "virtual" devices/folders be set up so only updated files need to be synced up?
Ideally... JRiver would look at what's already in the folder, and only add new files, not add duplicate files with a "(1)" appended to the file name.
I only caught this when my android space filled up really fast!

Probably more info is necessary.
You're not deleting the Database.mpl file are you?
Can you show some screenshots of your HH configuration options?
-
Oh, you know... that may be it.
I'm not deleting it, but I think I may not have anything in that setting for the device. When I get home I'll try putting a name in that field and see what happens.

Just deleting the virtual "device" and re-creating it seems to have fixed the issue.
This is encouraging, as doing this and using an android wifi sync solution such as FolderSync will probably fit my needs.
Thanks for the suggestion.

You can also setup a samaba server on your device, it will mount and be accessible to your windows workgroup. wipe the handheld settings in MC and manually select the samba share drive.
samaba may require root though.. I'll double check.
