I am stuck with iTunes because no other music management software offer the: (1) ability to trim the beginning or end of INDIVIDUAL songs. (Most music players applies this function across the board to ALL songs, by trimming silence, or cutting seconds off ALL songs.
(2) Also, with iTunes, a person can create a dedicated EQUALIZER for Each song. (With most music players, ONE Equalizer setting applies to ALL songs
I desperately want to move away from iTunes, but I am stuck. iTunes always wants to flex its behemoth muscles all over your computer. If you open iTunes, the processes running on your system will increase by 7.

You can set #1 with the playback range tags (http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php/Playback_Range_%28A-B_Playback%29) in Media Center.
I don't know that per-track EQ is possible.

This has been requested a few times before and its something I would like to see myself as well. It's sort of possible with zones and auto zone switching but it has the limitation that when you add multiple files with different EQ settings, they go to different zones and playback won't be continuous. Also, when you would want hundreds of songs with their own EQ setings, this would mean creating hundreds of zones; not practical.
This shouldn't stop you from using MC though, accept this one shortcoming and enjoy all the other features and improvements MC has to offer :P.

I am stuck with MC because of the thousands of other features that iTunes does not have.

Found under the Interface Plug-in sub heading.

I'm with the King on this. The thing that I really appreciate with MC is that the developers have designed in flexibility, so that if there's a feature missing an industrious user can work up an add-on to fill the gap. Plus the assistance from the forum just adds to the horsepower in the engine room.

I wish to dedicate this song to MC
