Title: Next/Previous subtitle
Post by: Sanxel on September 05, 2013, 11:05:00 am
Would be nice to have a hotkey for jumping to Next/Previous subtitle in JRiver like in KMplayer, PotPlayer and some other players. I've been using KMPlayer for a long time, but sound quality prevailed :)

I understand there is no much point in adding more subtitles settings to JRiver, because they can be set up by external filters(I use ffdshow). But that feature is still unavailable.
Thanks.

There's already an MCC for this:
MCC_SET_SUBTITLES (10052)

You can pick an index, or roll forward with -1 and backwards with -2.

There are lots of ways to call MCC commands and you can even create your own keyboard shortcuts (but it's complicated (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/User_Defined_Global_Keyboard_Shortcuts)).

Maybe we could all agree on a good set of shortcuts for this and make it part of the program?  Suggestions?

Thank you. I made a script in Autohotkey. It works, but it actually switches between different available subtitles. That's a good feature, but I actually meant next/previous position within currently selected subtitle.....

Do you mean showing text ahead or behind the designated time?  If so, the subtitle timing adjustment can be used for that.

If not, could you explain what you mean in more detail?

Thanks.

Hello,

In PotPlayer, it's called simply "Jump to Previous/Next Subtitle", located in General->Shortcuts->Playback->Jump (to)->Previous Subtitle/Next Subtitle. It allows to jump from one subtitle's position to the next or previous. It's useful, for example, if you don't want to watch some scene in a movie and instead of jumping some fixed amount of seconds ahead, you jump right to the next dialog.... Or you can repeat the current actor's phrase, by using the "Previous" and "Next" shortcuts simultaneously....
sorry if bad english..

Do you actually seek the movie, audio and subtitles to the next subtitle point?  Or do only the subtitles change and the video and audio stay in the "wrong" spot?

Yes, exactly.
