Title: Connected Media via DLNA Client?
Post by: klockk on September 07, 2013, 12:14:22 pm
Been a LONG time user of MC...
I like the newer stuff, band it seems to work well with my HP MediaSmart DLNA TV.. but when I navigate the menus, I onyl see Audio, Video, Images.... and within each of those... There's no item for the Connected Media...
I would love to be able to navigate Netflix and Hulu from my TV thru MC just like I can with PlayOn... is it possible? am I missing something?  ?  Right now I appear to be restricted to only streaming LOCAL content to my TV via MC.  :(

under MC options, there is a services tab that lists Hulu and Netflix. Have you tried configuring that?

Yes.. I see the connected media from within the MC interface, but not thru my DLNA devices.

that makes sense... DLNA devices see only DLNA services. You should be able to use MC to stream Hulu/Netflix as the DLNA controller to these other DLNA devices but I doubt you can use a DLNA device
to control/pull content that's not a direct resource (drive) on another DLNA device.

MC is just using the web browser to render those services on the local PC, within MC, so why can't MC do the same thing playon does to stream that service to the DLNA client?
