MJ is a good product.....but what we really need is some of the bigger bugs fixed.
THEN go and look at the wish list...there are some great ideas...a million Vis possibilities is not really a top priority.
Then again its your program....so do as you like.
and here's one more vote for a search by album cover search feature.
You have a great program.....don't get bogged down in the flashy stuff......after all how many people are staring at the Vis's??? Hell you would go mad after awhile.
-
OK!
-
I am.
But one thing you have to keep in mind is that JRiver isn't just one person. It's a team, with each person having their piece of the whole product to work on. The person in charge of vis's may not be the same person who's in charge of CDDB integraton, or CD burning, etc.
-
Not to antagonize you, but perhaps it would be more helpful to report the bugs you find in the bug thread, instead of spending time complaining that things aren't being fixed. We're trying our best to fix every bug that gets reported...
Thank you for your time.

Matt the buffering bug is repeatedly informed but never gets resolved
-
toni, we're trying like crazy to track the "buffering" bug down. (no joy yet)
Give us while... we'll get it.
Thanks for your patience.

Wasn't there talk of a bug-tracking system a while back? Did it ever get off the ground? It's a bit frustrating reporting the same bug every build and not knowing if you can't reproduce it, are working on it or don't consider it important.
Any progress on the "playback popping while analysing replay gain" thing?
-
I agree with Johnboy
I dont use any of the Vizulizations or DSP or any of the Gizmo features.
All i want is a great library manager that plays back music without crashing out.
MJ of any of the last 10 buils has a tendancy to crash out for no reason during playback.
Restart and off you go - its fine.
I have to say that WMP or even Realjukebox has never crashed out on me - Not once.
Come on guys - i know your all trying
But forget the gadgets and get the product stable.
-
You are right for a part. But why use beta8?If you run 7,2 you will not have any problems
Last built was a catastrophe on my computer.
Just back to 7.2 now and until 8 final, like this i can listen to music instead of reboot
-
Cant search through library using 2 characters. - thats it V8 does this.
7.2 always jumps to first character - very annoying when you have lots of artists.
-
Right on mikeh - My feelings also. I do use the built in DSP, the Editor accasionally, and the Label Printing, and of course the burner.
-
I dont use any of the Vizulizations or DSP or any of the Gizmo features.
What about those of us who do use these "Gizmo" features?
Cant search through library using 2 characters. - thats it V8 does this.
Just use the Search function.
-
Doof.
Maybe your right.
Maybe MJ should have some sort of switch or mode enable function built into it.
How about.
1. Stable system with no gadgets
2. Semi stable with a feew gadgets
3. Reboot every 5 tracks but stunning graphics while it lasts.
-
or the missing alternative:
Stable system with gadgets. That's what they are working on. That's why this is still beta. I must say that if you are losing patience with MJ bugs, I'm losing patience with beta testers who don't like bugs!
Yes, it's true, it's a pain to repeat the same bugs because you don't know if it's being worked on. But this was discussed before too--should we have the guys spend their time telling us what they are doing, or should they just do it? I vote for the latter.
We will get a good v8 soon. Let's just be patient.
Ok. That's my 2cents. Boy, now I feel better. Gee, and that wasn't really a rant. You should hear me when I really rant
-
Okay i'll wait and stop moaning.
Goodnight all.
-
lise
And when are we getting new help files!!!
-
I think people should quit whining. Use the old official release if you want stability. If you want the new features, use the new beta, but wake up--it's a beta. JRiver has to decide what features deserve resource. Some of the glitzy stuff is required to survive in this market. That's just the way it is.

Scronch
Yep
-
King Sparta,
it's in beta right now
-
So when you read the part about visualizations, it crashes?
-
A 133mhz System just don't work well any more with most programs.
-
-----------------------------
should we have the guys spend their time telling us what they are doing, or should they just do it?
-----------------------------
you know it may not be such a bad idea to let the betat testers in on what bugs are currently being worked on and what other features are being developed.
If anything it will give us some hope as to an even better product in the near future.
Call it an MJ THINGS TO COME report....at MJ you know....all the beta testers out there that are also working hard are basicly in the dark.
