Hi to everyone
just recently bought JRiver as my other HTPC software was bought by goggle a few years ago, and since then it`s been slowly going down.
Now, I`m chasing ways to do what I liked in the other software, which I succeeded most of the time
Now, I`m trying to add The TED Talks to the list of available menu, along the netflix (which I dont need) and youtube items
I`ve tried a lot of things, but never came close to achieve what I want.
Is there any good soul that know how to add the TEDs to the menu?
Thanks in advance,
Spou

Copy the link to any of the talks here:
http://www.ted.com/pages/198
These are RSS feeds. Go to Podcasts in MC, and Add a feed. Use the URL you copied above.

Thanks MrC.
Ok, I do have the talks list, but I was under the impression that I could remove the services I dont need (such as netflix and hulu), and replace it with the podcast list, all in the Theater View.
Am I asking too much?
TIA,

Theater View is customized under Tools > Options > Theater View. Remove items from the Items To Show that you don't want. You'll find Podcast under Audio. You can Unnest it from Audio to move it to the top level.

ok, Podcast is in the Theater view, and the unwanted services are out.
Now, I try to add the podcasts themselve into the podcast menu.
I`ve added a "ted talk" sub-item to the podcast item, but I cant seems to find how to add the list of casts (visible from the podcast menu in the options) into the Theater menu / PODCAST / TED subitem
is there a complete recipe book somewhere? because I feel like a complete idiot right now... :-(
TIA,

The Podcast menu in Theater View is just an item that collects files that have Media Sub Type = Podcast. If you want Ted Talk, you'll have to examine the podcast items in Standard View and find something unique about them to filter out all but these items.
For example, Ted Talks audio files have Names that start with "Ted:", so you could use a Set rules for file display on your Ted Talks item as:
Name starts with TED:
Note: the podcasts need to be downloaded before they will appear here.

I realised a bit late that the TEDs were correctly imported into JRiver.
I want to thank MrC for his help.
I can now watch those excellent videos strait from JRiver, and that was the last thing missing from my old software previously known as SageTV :-)
JRiver has won a new happy customer!
