Title: Problem playing audio for music and video on .38
Post by: nano_machine on September 15, 2013, 09:17:02 am
I just built a new HTPC (4770S) and am having trouble playing audio for both video's and audio on my system.  I have the system connected via HDMI to my Pioneer 1522 receiver and can only have audio work for video using bitstreaming via WASAPI or else for audio using the direct sound connection.  I can manually switch between the two when I want to play music, but it seems that I should be able to have one setting to do both?

Help?

Welcome.   You can use Zoneswitch to switch output automatically.

Thanks for the zone info.

I guess my real question is why doesn't WASAPI work with 2 channel audio when all of the movie formats work correctly?  I should be able to use WASAPI for audio as well?

Thanks

Andy

WASAPI works for audio.  You could read more on the wiki in the Audio topics.
