Title: Difficulty with registration
Post by: czapp on September 18, 2013, 07:24:48 am
Hi
I am running MC 18.218 with 10.8.4. It is newly installed on a new Macmini.
Every other time I start up MC tells me I have x number of days in the trial, and I have to re-register.
My number of available registrations is dwindling. Am I doing something wrong here, or is there an issue?
Thanks

Make sure you're entering your Mac registration code and not your Windows code, you should be using the registration code that begins with WUY58.   Copy & paste it rather than hand type it in, as it's easy to mistake a one for a capital "I" or a zero for a capital "O".

You've only used up one of your restores (out of 15), and we'll reset it for you if needed.

Hi John,
It is still happening. I am putting in the correct registration codes. Each time it says install was successful.
Then, the next time I restart, I get the days remaining in the trial window.
Any idea as to why this is happening?
Thanks

I tested your license here and it worked.  Could you send a log file to johnt at jriver dot com?

Hi John
Excuse my ignorance, but how do I locate the log?

No problem.  On the menu, go to Help / Logging... and enable the option "Output to a log file", then restart the app. and after you see the message about the trial window, go back to Help / Logging and click "Report problem...".  It will tell you where it's going to create the output log zip file.
