If it's a version 7 license, try using it with the latest version of MJ8, available in another thread here.

I just tried that didn't help either. I also try this on one other machine, and same thing: after restoring the RRG file, the program deads, and won't let me back in - ever. So it's happening on both XP and 2000. I think it must be the RRG file. Could you send me another RRG file. These is a few words from my current RRG file:
BB RRG 1.2
2.0

Hi,
I am also having the same problem. I have just upgraded the hardware in my pc and installed win xp. I have a licence file for media jukebox 7 (MediaJukebox7.RRG) which was backed up from my previous system. I have installed MJ 7.2.280 and when i restore the licence i get an alert stating 'registration information restored!' but after restarting the splash page for MJ asks me to buy and that i have 24 days left on my trial period.
Can you please let me know my options?
Thanks.

Yes you are having the same problem. The problem is that the RRG file was corrupted (but was generated by MJ (v7.2), so its not your fault). I sent the RRG file to John (see above, per his request) and then he sent a "good" RRG back and that solved the problem. So you may want to do the same.
For me, John's response time was excellent, hope you'll get the same.
I think John also said something about the current download-able v8 beta is able to import this corrupted RRG file. I have not tried it, but you may want to while your v7.2 problem is being resolved.
Good luck.

I think there was a bug for some users, i think it was in MJ8 but i remember some users having this problem in version 7.
i think you should download version 8, and try registering with that, since MJ7 rrg will work in mj8
