Title: Rename "Filename" tag after migration from Windows. How?
Post by: RonaldX2 on September 19, 2013, 02:02:39 pm
I backed up my library, took the external disc off my windows machine and plugged it directly into my Mac machine.
I also successfully imported the old library from the windows machine into the Mac version 18.0.218.

The problem is: The filename entry for each mp3 is not correct anymore and the mp3s don't play. :(
I tried to use LIBRARY TOOLS / FIND & REPLACE but there does not show up the "Filename" attribute (anymore).

I don't know if LIBRARY TOOLS / RENAME, MOVE, & COPY FILES helps since I don't want to mess with my files.
BTW: If I activate FIND & REPLACE here I cannot click OK due to the fact that the "Preview New" section shows "<invalid change>".
How can I change the old path to a new one (preferrably for my complete library)?

Any help appreciated.

Ronald

Use the Rename tool, but in Update mode (not Copy or Move), to change the file paths.

Thanks for the answers. Got it working.

One important note here:

It does not work if you try to replace ie. "C:\".
Just omit the backslash and replace "C:" instead. This time it works fine!
