I'm running Vista with a Juli@ sound card that is outputting analog.
With vs 17 I was able to use WASAPI, outputting 24bits in 32 bit kernels, up sampling to 96k. Sounded great.
With vs 19 I was able to play WASAPI with the same settings, but sound was muddy, unclear. Also, every other time I started a new track I would get no sound at all. Right now I can't seem to get it to generate any sound.
ASIO works ok, and seems to sound ok, but I always thought WASAPI was supposed to be slightly better (true?), and with ASIO I don't see how to select 24bit output.
What's going here, and what would be the best settings given my setup?
EDIT: in ASIO mode I'm getting clicks when scrolling through my collection, so I guess that's ruled out, too. I think I'll be returning to version 17 until I get an external DAC.
Is there a way to get a refund on an upgrade?

Doesn't appear to be an option. Under Audio Device, right? Not there.

Ah, got it. In WASAPI mode it is there. Thanks. So far sounds ok.

I seem to be running sound like you (analog) and have found messing with the settings one at a time and starting playback to find the perfect settings....I also found using internal volume at 100 percent sounds best for me along with disabling windows sound options as well ie; under enhancements

Sounds better than ok. Great, in fact. And no more clicks. I'm happy.
