Title: Transcoding playback to JRemote IOS device crashes JRiver
Post by: emoon3 on September 21, 2013, 11:38:26 am
When connecting to JRiver (on a 10.6.8 machine) from an IOS device and playing back on that device, transcoding being enabled causes JRiver to crash every time. I then have to reboot the computer before JRemote can connect to JRiver again even if I restart the program after the crash.  With transcoding off, I am able to play back on my device.

This works fine on a 10.8 server.

Crash logs sent.

Sorry for the slow reply, but what happens if you manually convert an M4A file to MP3 on the machine where serving crashes?  I'm wondering if perhaps the MP3 encoder isn't working nicely on OSX 10.6.

Thanks.

You're right. Even trying to play an MP3 file to JRemote crashes JRiver.

Could you try converting, on the computer, to MP3?

Thanks.

Trying to convert to MP3 crashes JRiver.

Trying to convert to FLAC does as well.
